Our Analysis

CashCrate.com was once one of the most well-known GPT (Get-Paid-To) sites on the internet. Operated by CashCrate LLC, the platform allowed users to earn money by completing surveys, watching videos, signing up for trial offers, and referring friends. During its peak years (roughly 2008–2018), it was considered a legitimate, if modest, way to earn supplemental income online.

However, CashCrate has been effectively shut down. The company stopped processing payments, customer support channels were closed, and no new offers or tasks have been added. Despite this, the website remains online, which is misleading — new users may sign up believing the platform is still operational, only to complete tasks that will never be compensated.

A significant number of users have reported unredeemed balances that were never paid out when the platform ceased operations. CashCrate did not provide advance notice to users, and there is no known process for recovering outstanding balances. The company appears to have dissolved without settling its obligations to active users.

While CashCrate was not a scam in the traditional sense during its operational years, its current state — a defunct site that still appears functional — effectively makes it deceptive to new users. Any time spent on the platform now is wasted, and any personal information submitted may not be protected.

We rate CashCrate.com 28/100 — DANGER. While we acknowledge its legitimate history, the platform is no longer functional, no longer pays, and its continued online presence is misleading. Users should switch to active, verified alternatives like Swagbucks.

I used CashCrate years ago and it was fine back then — slow but legit. Recently tried to log back in and nothing works. No surveys, no offers, no way to cash out. I had $14 in my account that I never withdrew and it’s just gone. The site looks like it’s still running but it’s basically a ghost town. Don’t waste your time signing up in 2026.

CashCrate was legit in its day. I made maybe $200 total over 2 years of casual use back in 2015–2017. But they clearly shut down operations without telling anyone. The fact that the website is still up and accepting registrations is honestly dishonest. New users will waste time on a dead platform. They should take the site down.

Found CashCrate through an old blog post recommending it. Signed up, completed their “welcome surveys” which took 30 minutes, and then discovered there are no actual offers available. Dashboard shows $0 forever. Emailed support three times — bounced back as undeliverable. Read online that they shut down. Frustrated that the site is still up misleading people.
